The building where our cozy restaurant is located was built at the end of the XVIII century and is a monument of Russian civil architecture. At the end of the XIX century, the Post Office was located here – the most important institution that ensured communication between people over distances.
Preserving Postal Traditions
In 2016, in view of Russian Post Day, the restaurant “Pochtovaya Kontora 1786” and the Arkhangelsk branch of Russian Post signed a cooperation agreement that will help implement joint projects to promote postal traditions, assist and strengthen the image of brands.
We stand for preserving the tender connection between generations, countries and continents through letters, postcards and telegrams.
In 2017, a ceremony of presenting an artistic stamp was held at the restaurant “Pochtovaya Kontora 1786”. This is the first time in the world that a restaurant has officially received a commemorative special cancellation. The stamp was issued by the Federal Communications Agency and the joint-stock company “Marka”, the design is based on the logo and corporate style of the restaurant. The head of the Federal Postal Service of the Arkhangelsk Region Grigory Bedrin and restaurateur Grigory Ryabov put their signatures and the imprint of the commemorative stamp on the envelope.
