Northern Cuisine
Arkhangelsk is the first seaport in Russia. It was here on the banks of the Northern Dvina via the White Sea, that foreign merchants came for brisk trade and exchange of experience starting from the XVI century. This is how the cultural and culinary traditions of Europeans and northerns collaborated influencing the formation of Pomor gastronomy.
The concept of the restaurant’s cuisine reveals the historical background. It reflects the eclectic character of Pomorye and is based on working with local products in a modern interpretaton.
Background
The building in which the restaurant is located is a historical and cultural monument, the Post Office of 1786. It was built at the end of the 18th century, during the reign of Empress Catherine II, for the Arkhangelsk Provincial Post Office, an important institution that ensured communication between people over distances. It is located on one of the oldest streets in the city, Torgovaya Street, now the Northern Dvina Embankment. It is an island of tranquility with a 237-year history.
Interior
Everyone will find the area suitable for itself. Those who prefer a calm atmosphere will find comfortable sofas in the “Gallery”. Large windows overlooking the river seem to expand space and time. The “White Hall” of the restaurant opens its doors hospitably: it is a comfortable place to dine with your family, have a business lunch, or chat with friends. The “Bar” in a classic style is for dynamic people who are ready for active communication, for connoisseurs of live jazz music.

The bright and spacious hall with a vaulted ceiling, white tablecloths and an antique wine cabinet is ideal for both a family dinner and a special event for a larger company.
